From The Pastor’s Heart:
Disaffiliation is Complete, Going Deeper by PREP & Sowing Financially

Our reading from the One Year Bible this week speaks of God’s reciprocity as we can’t expect a harvest of blessings without sowing into God’s Kingdom.  This is true not only for financial blessings as we give tithes into the storehouse of God, but it’s equally true as we sow into our own lives by reading the Bible daily and doing Life Together—in Life Groups.  Here God’s wisdom as revealed in Scripture:

“6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”  8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” II Corinthians 9: 6-8

God wants to provide “all you need” if you and I will trust God with our finances, with our relationships, school and education, with our jobs and business, and especially with our spiritual development.  Here’s how we are “Moving Forward in Faith and Going Deeper” this fall…
  • ·Christ Church Trustees have signed the “Quick Claim Deeds”, paid our disaffiliation fee and we have completed our “Disaffiliation” from the United Methodist Church as of August 24.  We are now officially “Christ Church Global”.  Let’s Go Deeper and Sow.
  • Going Deeper: with a fresh start it’s time for every worshipper to go Deeper with Christ with Life Group participation starting September 17,  and One Year Bible Reading using PREP starting on October 1. PREP was written by our Lead Pastor and is a vital method to maximize your reading of the Bible: Pray, Read, Edify and Practice with one action.  Here is how to use it daily before you begin reading your One Year Bible (www.oneyearbibleonline.com)
  • Pray—ask God to give you insights, understanding, and help you see something or hear something in Scripture you have never seen before.
  • Read—the Scripture asking a few important questions a) Who is the writer talking about? B) Who are the main characters in this story, c) How can I relate to any of them?
  • Edify—ask God to help you discover one “takeaway” today in the reading of Scripture, which speaks to you in some way.  Perhaps it is just a word of promise, hope, a question to ponder, or a prompting to act upon—but it is your take-away from God.
  • Practice—what can you “practice” today or act upon from the reading of the passage?  What can you apply to your life and begin to practice today which over time might change your life?
  • Sow into God’s Kingdom by serving in at least one active ministry each month at CC. Have you considered worship, technology, being a vocalist, playing an instrument, children, student or adult ministry?
  • Praying for our unchurched friends, neighbors, students, coworkers and family.
  •  Inviting persons to worship so they may encounter Christ’s redemptive love.

Our new series “Redemption—Is it Possible?” begins September 24.  We certainly want redemption for ourselves, yet do we really believe it’s possible for others?  We will take a deep dive into the Old Testament in order to understand the power and world changing reality of this person called Jesus.  You don’t want to miss this series as it will be both foundational for deeper faith and life changing. Let’s go deeper together.

Love,
Pastors Charles, Chip, Harley, Mike, Trent, and Tyler
