A Prayerful Persistence • Luke 11:1-13 • Beyond Sunday Ep. 6
How does one pray properly? … why even ask such a question? We are in a battle; yes, whether we acknowledge it or not, Christ-followers live in a war zone. Ephesians 6:10-18 tells us that part of our armor is to have good shoes (V15), so WE have peace and a confidence in the battle and so our feet are ready to present the Gospel (Good Message of Christ) to the watching world around us, even in the face of attack. The Lord equips us to rightly stand in the face of the oppositional watching enemy, the devil and forces of darkness, once we have rightly prayed. This all may sound surreal, but the writers of the New Testament wanted future generations of Christ-followers to see how Jesus taught basic simple truths, focusing on fundamentals, so disciples would see the seriousness of the call. Jesus wants his disciples to endure and complete the work. Small things practiced consistently equal endurance and victory!
