Being an Overcomer • Acts 26:1-32 • Beyond Sunday Ep. 19

Outside of the Lord Jesus, perhaps no one knew stress, anxiety, and rejection like the apostle Paul. It was foretold by the Lord himself that this man, Paul – formerly Saul of Tarsus – would suffer for Jesus (Acts 9:15-16). After being blinded by the glorious presence of the risen Jesus en route to persecute Christians, not only does something like scales fall from Saul’s eyes, but the trappings of his former life peel away as he immediately begins to preach the very faith he had just fought against. Only God can work such a 180o in a person’s life! Though in physical chains by his journey’s end, Paul experienced the joy and freedom of spiritual chains broken off his life. His heart now belonged to Jesus forever.
