On the night Jesus crosses the Kidron Valley before his arrest, it feels like everyone has an agenda. The religious leaders are finally executing a plan two years in the making to silence him for good. Judas betrays him, convinced it will force Jesus onto the world stage. The soldiers arrive with orders to bring him in, and Peter pulls a sword, desperate to fight back, only for his plan to fall apart immediately. Yet while everyone else is scrambling, Jesus heads into Gethsemane simply to pray. He asks that the Father’s plan win out over all the rest, staying steady on the path he was sent to finish.
