From The Pastor’s Heart: New Worship Pastor, Fusion Camp, and Vision 2:28 Updates

Seeing Growth and Multiple Blessings in Our Christ Church Family

God promised to bless Abraham in Genesis 12. Galatians 3:7,9 says, “The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God…So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.”  This summer has been a tremendous time of growth for Christ Church with Fuge Camp for our students, 83 decisions for Christ from Mega Sports Camp with hundreds of children attending, and every campus of Christ Church coming together at our Northside Campus to give away 1,167 backpacks and pray for each student and their family who received one. We broke ground on our new building in Lincolnton on July 18 and now have all our permits approved! Yay God!  Moreover, our Ghana Medical Mission Team witnessed 170 baptisms, treated 497 persons in three villages and planted three new churches in the Secondi Western Region of Ghana.  Pray for Fusion Camp for our Students in October.

In late October Pastor Julie Kyker and I will be teaching Leadership in Cyprus to 70 pastors and leaders from the Middle East to plant new churches and the first week of November Pastor Brian King and I will be teaching leadership and church growth to some 80 pastors in Pakistan where the average pastor’s salary is less than $3,000 per year.  This is why our Second Mile Offering in September is going for pastor scholarships and leadership training in Cyprus and Pakistan so we can partner with them in achieving our mission statement to “Reach Millions of Unchurched Persons by Developing Thousands of Fully Devoted Followers of Jesus Christ.”  Pray for this mission as we invest in the lives of these leaders and as they bravely share the Gospel of Christ in a predominately Muslim context.

Christ Church is excited to announce our new Worship Pastor David Piedt and his wife Evie who are moving here from Florida.  David plays multiple instruments and has both a music degree and a Masters in Theology. We are excited to have them on our team of great staff and volunteers as David will lead all of our campuses in seeking to fulfill our Core Value of offering excellence in Incarnational and Inspirational Worship.

The Finance Team of Christ Church expresses deep appreciation for your continued giving to the General Budget as the summer giving was down while our needs our growing for this fall.  Our budget giving needed to date is $2,771,928 and our budget received to date is $2,335,039. So please be generous this fall so we can accomplish our mission to reach the children, students and adults who have yet to belong to Christ.

Our Vision 2:28 Campaign is strong with our current total of $964,212. With only $35,000 left to go to reach our first one million goal to pay for our new 12,000 square foot building in Lincolnton.  We have two renovation projects coming online soon with the need to pave our parking lot at the Mt. View Campus and to renovate our underground at the Fairgrove Campus. You will hear more in the coming weeks about both of these needed projects to enhance our Vision 2:28 to reach the next Generation for Christ.

Our Hot Topic this Sunday “Is AI Just Tower of Babel 2.0?”  With all the anxiety around AI this is a great Sunday to invite someone to worship at CC. Jesus’s heart was touched time and time again when he saw great faith in people like Jairus, the Roman Centurion, and the woman who touched the hem of his garment for healing.  Let’s be courageous and invite someone, give generously to the mission, and serve boldly so others might know Christ!

We are so excited at Christ Church to Launch CCYA (Christ Church Young Adults)!!! Our new College and Young Adult Pastor, Matt Ledford, and his family are hosting a launch Worship and Prayer night at their house on October 2nd from 6-8:30pm.
