For parents, submitting a child for baptism is a powerful mark of obedience to God, vowing to live out the faith of Christ so that one day, he or she may profess personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. What We Believe About Baptism
We believe baptism is a sacrament, or a “sacred moment,” something God does for us. Through baptism, God’s presence is made known and active in our lives through the act of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a means by which God’s grace is given to humankind; washing away the guilt of original sin by the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and giving us new life through Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Baptism is a sign of the covenant we have with God and the means of grace to enter into the family of God.
